Regional Youth Police Academy

The Boroughs of ALDAN, CLIFTON HEIGHTS, EAST LANSDOWNE and LANSDOWNE in conjunction with the NAACP invite you to attend a REGIONAL YOUTH POLICE ACADEMY

The Regional Youth Police Academy is for ages 13 to 17
Eight (8) week course March 5th to April 30th
Classes meet once per week from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday

The goal of this program is to introduce and familiarize youth with the role of the Police Chief and the police department within your regional area. Participants will gain personal experience with a wide variety of Law Enforcement functions as well as the various types of emergency services and training that is required.

Gangs, Drugs & Gun Violence
Basic Physical Fitness
Basic First Aid & Fire Safety
Patrol & Handcuffing
Firearms Safety
Basic Self-defense
Drug Investigations
The Prison System

ALL GRADUATES WILL RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE!!

Applications can be downloaded from the web site of any participating municipality or picked up from your local municipal building. You can also get applications from your school district. COMPLETED APPLICATIONS must be turned into your local municipality.

Burglars also look for crimes of opportunity, entering homes through unlocked doors or open windows. With high prices for gold these days, burglars are targeting jewelry. Guns, laptops and other electronic equipment also are hot commodities. So what can you do to protect your home? These tips may help. As always, if you see something suspicious, call 911 and report it.
