Burglars by and large prefer the light of day to the dark of night. Crooks play the odds, figuring homeowners are most likely at work on weekdays. Their prime time is between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. The most common break-in method is a hard kick to the door. Burglars also look for crimes of opportunity, entering homes through unlocked doors or open windows. With high prices for gold these days, burglars are targeting jewelry. Guns, laptops and other electronic equipment also are hot commodities. So what can you do to protect your home? These tips may help. As always, if you see something suspicious, call 911 and report it.

Don't Lie For the Other Guy

DLFOGConvicted felons, minors, persons determined by a court of law to be "mentally defective" and certain others are prohibited by law from buying a firearm.

If a friend or relative asks you to lie to the federal government or to a federally licensed firearms retailer to try to buy a gun for him/her, don't do it! It's not worth 10 years in jail.

SPCA Saves Bambi!

Bambi BeforeThe East Lansdowne Police recently filed charges against a resident of Pembroke Ave for animal cruelty.  Two residents reported seeing a dog inside the defendant’s apartment in horrible condition. One of the residents was so moved by what she saw that she physically took the dog from the defendant and called police.
