SPCA Saves Bambi!

Bambi BeforeThe East Lansdowne Police recently filed charges against a resident of Pembroke Ave for animal cruelty.  Two residents reported seeing a dog inside the defendant’s apartment in horrible condition. One of the residents was so moved by what she saw that she physically took the dog from the defendant and called police.

Delaware County Animal Control was called and took custody of the dog, a female Terrier Mix. The dog was then given to the DelCo SPCA who nursed the dog back to health and gave it the name of “Bambi” for its close resemblance to a Deer. It is believed that “Bambi” was placed into a very small cage as a baby and rarely, if ever, allowed to exit the cage. Bambi had numerous open wounds about its body and was all but skin and bones when the SPCA took custody. Now Bambi lives in a foster home and is doing well!

Thanks to the two residents of Pembroke Ave (who wish to remain anonymous), Delaware County Animal Control and the Delaware County SPCA, Great Job!
